Bridport Police Issue Reminder Re: Farming Land

Bridport PoliceHere is a follow up to Andrew Frampton‘s comments (original post HERE) on 4th July issued by Bridport Police earlier today:
Over the last few weeks there have been an increased amount of issues around the area with footpath gates being left open, damaged or taken off the hinges. It is not known why, but please remember that if livestock are able to escape their field, particularly close to main roads, this can have very serious consequences.
I would also like to remind people that gates shouldn’t be climbed on/damaged for this reason, but also because it could result in criminal damage. There have also been reports of fires being lit and left unattended in woodlands around Beaminster. Please be aware that even if you think you have put fires out, in hot weather they can easily reignite and cause a lot of damage.
Please enjoy the Countryside we are lucky to have in this area and respect the work that people do to farm and preserve it.”

Broadwindsor School’s Fun Run – Saturday 18th July

BW School Fun RunTo raise funds for new IT equipment at Broadwindsor school, the PTA are holding a Fun Run/Walk/Cycle this Saturday, 18th July – the challenge being to accomplish 100 miles in one day!
Their aim is to get the whole school to run 100 miles in one day, to raise much needed funds for the school and to kickstart their JustGiving page, which already excels their humble £200 target.
Message them through Facebook HERE for more information on how to be involved.

Here is the PTA’s message:

Friends and family of Broadwindsor school,

We are a small rural village school and due to Covid-19 have been unable to do any fundraising since March. This means that the school is missing out of the much needed funds that the PTA would usually contribute in order to make purchases to support the children’s education. IT equipment is much needed by the school, and lockdown and remote working has shown this to be the case even more so.

All the children have so missed being with their friends at school, and missed some exciting events including sports day! We therefore thought it would be a good idea to bring the whole school community together by completing a fun run on the 18th July. Children will be running/walking/cycling their chosen route to see how far we can go as a whole school community. Between all of us, the aim is to get to 100 miles! Any sponsorship would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for all your support.
