The census only happens every 10 years and counts every person and household in England and Wales. Thousands of people are being hired in a range of exciting temporary roles to make Census 2021 a success.
If you like being out in the community and talking to people, this is the role for you. You will be working alone but with the support of your team of up to 12 Census Officers and team leader. Knocking on doors, you’ll encourage residents to complete the census. This involves visiting different properties in an assigned area, sometimes several times, making return visits when necessary.
Census Officers contribute to the overall success of the census. The goal is to make people aware why the census is important and feedback information that keeps the address register up to date.
There are no fixed daily normal working hours. However, you are required and agree to work your duties within the hours detailed below:
