The White Lion – Update #9

The White Lion Management committee met on Thursday evening, 3rd March and have provided the following update: 

Refurbishment is going on apace inside the White Lion, with much work also happening behind the scenes.

The Management Committee is now meeting every week and discussions and activity are taking place every day.

At the latest management committee meeting on Thursday, 3rd March, which lasted well into the night at 11.15pm, there were discussions about flooring, the new back bar, central pillar, lighting, electricity and USB points, paint colours and finishes and aesthetics.

Other matters discussed included:

  • Membership certificates will be issued after Friday, 18th March.
  • Kitchen equipment and modifications drawn up by the manager.
  • Financial matters.
  • Community use of pub outside of opening times.
  • Report on Palmers trade tasting, with summary of recommendations to be prepared.
  • A training workshop on how to make the pub friendly and welcoming.
  • Wyld Morris coming to the village on Tuesday, 24th May and will liaise with manager.
  • Musician from the local folk circuit would like to host a regular folk club.
  • The fundraising gig on 2nd April – look out for posters.
  • All post sent to the White Lion to be collated and David to deal with.
