Update from our shop . . .

*DELIVERY INFORMATION UPDATE*

Please note, from the delivery team:

Please do not call the shop, they’re really busy.
Call one of the team until you can get through to one of us!
Our numbers are on the flyers delivered to you, and the Parish Magazine.

*New ordering times:*
9am – 4pm on Monday for Wednesday delivery;
and 9am – 4pm on Thursday for Saturday delivery.

One order per week only.

Saturday is very busy for deliveries. Should we have too many to cope with in the future, we may have to hold your order over to the following Wednesday. If so, we will process orders in the order they are received, and we will telephone you to let you know.

When ordering, please have your list ready, tell us what substitute, if any, you would prefer, but we cannot guarantee that we will have your first choice, or the substitute. Stock levels are fluctuating. We try our best to be fair and share what stock we do have.

Perishable goods will be within sell by date, fruit and veg. will be as fresh as possible. Refunds or exchanges will not be accepted unless we have inadvertently delivered something past its sell by or use by date.

We will call for payment between 3pm until early evening on the day of delivery. Please ensure you are able to answer the phone. We can only call for payment one customer at a time, please have your card ready, and help us be as quick as possible… Every minute we spend chatting is another customer waiting (and a longer day’s work for our volunteers!). We’re looking forward to chatting in the shop soon 🙂

If we cannot get through to you on the phone, we will try again, but if by the end of the session we have been unable to get hold of you, we will have no choice but to cancel the order.

Finally, if you could keep the bags or boxes and give them back to the drivers the following week, that would help.

Thank you for your understanding.

Sandra, Teri and Nat.

Broadwindsor PCC 100 Club update

Owing to the present crisis and the restrictions on movement and assembles we have decided to postpone the monthly draw of the 100 Club (Church) until such time as we are able to become mobile again.
When we are able to do so we will hold a draw for all the missing months at one time.
Thank you.

Eco Group update

On Saturday 14th March we planted a further 210 small trees on Hursey Common on both sides of the main road out of the village.  This brings our total to 239 with one final yew to go in the Church garden we hope, this will be 240!  We were lucky with a fairly dry morning and although the ground was extremely boggy all went well.

My huge thanks to the small team of cheerful and hard working volunteers :  David, Tony, Linda, Hazel, Bob, Peter, Ian, Francesca, Dorothy and myself.

We have also purchased a picnic table for the football pitch area which is now in situ just in time for lovely weather. I am awaiting to attach a sign to this to credit the AONB grant we received and the Beaminster Area Eco Group but of course at present nowhere is open!

This will happen as soon as I am able.

In addition we at last have our wheelie bins : two already at the Craft Centre which are for tetrapaks and aluminium foil items respectively.  These are clearly labelled and I encourage everyone to make use of them.  These will be regularly checked and emptied by one of the Eco group and taken to the recycling centre in Bridport.  PLEASE do not put anything else in them. We are doing this to try and increase the amount of recycling in the village that is currently not possible at the kerbside.  We need the help of everyone for this to be a success.

Please spread the word to those who do not get the magazines.

A third wheelie bin will be outside the school soon for crisp, peanuts, Pringles, crinkly chocolate wrappers etc.  This will be in situ this week.  Kindly decorated by the Roy family.

Happy recycling!

If you would like to join us or help in any way please contact either Linda Sherman on 868971 or me on 868949.
