Tree Swings Vandalised At Top Of Lewesdon Hill

Sadly, Broadwindsor.org was sent these images earlier this morning.  All of the rope tree swings at the top of Lewesdon Hill have been cut denying fun to all those who use them.

Lewesdon is such a pleasure for all of us and our families – particularly under these extremely restrictive times. This behaviour is not what our community is about! Having no idea who is responsible or what action the local council will take at this time – it’s simply sad to report.

Could You Bottle & Sell Your Spring Water?

In our Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, many local farms and land owners have naturally occurring springs.  This can offer a wealth of opportunities for a farmer able to use their holding’s natural resources.

Spring water must meet high quality standards and come from a named groundwater source, but may be treated within strict guidelines. Although a sizeable investment at first, a bottled water enterprise can bring greater profits than some farming sectors.

So Who Has Had A New Cooker Installed?

Thankfully, a rare occurrence in our village, but someone has illegally dumped an old cooker at Hursey Common.

Cooker at HurseyCooker at Hursey

Photographed by a shocked village resident walking her dog earlier today, the cooker has just appeared – dumped. In what is recognised as an Area Of Natural Beauty, this is a sad and disgraceful occurrence.

Dorset Council should be notified of any fly-tipping and will only clear waste from the public highway or public land.  You can start an online report HERE.
If anyone has seen anything suspicious or knows anything related to this incident – please contact our local Community Officer Alex Bishop by email: alex.bishop@dorset.ppn.police.uk or on his mobile: 07912 898983.
You can also report anonymously to CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111 or by completing their online form HERE.
