STOP PRESS: Double Barrows from Frampton nr. Dorchester has just stepped in to replace the service offered by Weldmar Hospicecare. Details are TBC but they’re hoping to bring their green waste mulcher to Beaminster this Friday 8th Jan, where you can drop your tree off or they can collect from you.
A fee will be charged to cover their costs but a good donation will go to Weldmar Hospice.
On 30th of last month, Weldmar publicised their Christmas Tree Recycling campaign. On Monday 4th January the Prime Minister announced the immediate national lockdown that has come into force to help manage the Covid-19 pandemic. Sadly, the lockdown means that Weldmar Hospicecare are simply no longer able to continue with the scheme as planned and are left with no other option than to cancel their plans.
They are devastated that they are unable to continue with the scheme this year after what was promising to be their most successful to date. This comes after an extremely challenging year for fundraising events and activities at Weldmar, with them not holding any events or fundraisers such as this since January last year. They are extremely sorry to everyone who supported the scheme and of course will be offering a full refund.
They can offer you two option:
- Firstly, they would be extremely grateful if you felt that your donation could still be used by their dedicated team at Weldmar Hospicecare to continue providing vital end of life care with compassion, dignity and respect to those who need us right now. They promise to ensure that your support will be invested in the best possible way right here in Dorset. Without any fundraising events or activities and our shops closing once more, your donation truly will make a massive difference.
