6/6A Bus Timetable Now Gets Yeovil Students Home

Today, still with WATAG, she was pleased to see that, at last – “the No. 6A bus WILL pick up the students from Yeovil College at 16.45pm for homeward travel to Broadwindsor – now to get Dorset Council to get Rural Access to Public Transport.
Children from Broadwindsor will still have to travel to Beaminster in the morning.

Beaminster Tunnel Closed 8am -5pm – Thursday, 26th August

Beaminster Tunnel (A3066) will be closed for works tomorrow, to enable Upton Tree Services Ltd safe access to carry out urgent tree works on behalf of Dorset Council to remove a dead tree.

Tunnel Road will be closed at both entrances to the tunnel from 8am until 5pm. There is a 43 mile diversion route which will be signposted in both Dorset and Somerset: A3066 – A356 – A37 – A35 – A30. It is estimated the diversion journey will take just over 70 minutes.

The reason for the length of the diversion is because the closure is on an A-road and therefore any official alternative route must use the same class of road.

Locals will be aware that there are a number of shorter, unofficial routes that can be taken to avoid the road closure. Please note: these are not suitable for HGVs and should be avoided if using larger machinery or towing caravans. Drive safe!

The road closure notice will remain in force for five days, but it is anticipated that the works will be completed on the day.

For further information about the work being undertaken, call:
Upton Tree Services Ltd on 07384548283.
To discuss this Notice, call:

Dorset Highways Traffic Team on 01305 221020 or email trafficteam@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk.
Anyone with any concerns or wish to discuss any issues regarding the roadworks can contact Dorset Council HERE.

The Prout Project Successfully Reach Their Target

Together we did it!

🚌🌈👏 TOGETHER WE DID IT!!! 👏🌈🚌

We are speechless with excitement and overwhelmed with thanks to all of our supporters!

We just now found out we’ve reached our target thanks to a contribution from the Power of Change Community Business Crowdmatch fund providing us with an additional £4,000 in funding pushing us over the line. We can now buy and kit out an outreach vehicle and make this happen at last!!

We wouldn’t have got here without all of you, our super crowd – you’ve showed compassion towards our community, dedication to sharing our message and an abundance of encouragement and heart – THANK YOU!

Our campaign remains open until next Friday and any additional donations will be used directly to fund additional staffing so that we can extend our reach and offer a wider programme to our community.

Thank you so many times. We can’t wait to celebrate with you soon! 🙏👏🙏👏
