Spaces Available – Comrades Hall 100 Club

For the first time in a long time – there are several spaces available in Broadwindsor’s 100 Club at the Comrades Hall. This is mainly due to so many people leaving the village over the last year.  So! For those who have just moved into the village or for those who have always wondered how to be included – now is your opportunity.

Payment is only £15 for the year.  The draws occur quarterly and 6 prizes are awarded: £75; £50; £25; £15; £10 and £5.  A full compliment of 100 Members is required to meet those prizes.  All proceeds go to maintaining the Comrades Hall.

Joyce and Sally will be pleased to take your subscription.  They will be at the Comrades Hall alongside the Post Office Outreach service on Friday 19th at 10am – 12 noon  Alternatively, put your remittance through either of their doors, clearly stating who it is from, or contact them if you have any questions or to pay by BACS.

Please make cheques payable to Comrades Hall.

Donation To Post Office Users Group

Jacqui Sewell has donated a Buffalo Boiling Water Dispenser to the Post Office Users Group at Broadwindsor’s Comrades Hall.  This will save the volunteers repeatedly boiling kettles.

Before the pandemic, the Group offered regular teas and coffees when the Outreach Post Office services were there Tuesday and Friday mornings.  Jacqui Sewell will be offering drinks when she is there next Tuesday, 19th October.

Photographed with Jacqui are Val & Colin Lawrence from Burstock who timed it right this morning to test it out and to enjoy a cuppa and a chat.

RNLI Lyme Regis Thank Broadwindsor Community

Jacqui Sewell, on behalf of the Post Office Users Group, received a letter from the Chairman of the RNLI Supporters Group, Ken Lavery after taking collection of all the books donated to the Post Office Group at the Comrades Hall.

Villagers responded by appearing with bags, cardboard boxes and with car boots loaded full of books at the Post Office on Friday, 23rd April.  Even more books had been left for collection at the Telephone Box Book Exchange.  Thank you to Broadwindsor Community Stores for providing some much needed cardboard boxes! The books were collected by a Lyme Regis RNLI Supporter earlier this week on Tuesday.
