Broadwindsor Group Annual Parish Online Meeting – Tuesday, 27th April

Broadwindsor Group Parish Council are holding their Annual Parish Meeting online using the Zoom platform at 7.30pm on Tuesday, 27th April 2021.
This meeting welcomes Groups and Organisations wishing to present or submit a report.  All are welcome to attend.

Welcome and Introductions from Chairman Rowland Hibbard will be followed by any apologies for absence and approval of the minutes from May 2019.
The Chairman will then deliver the Annual Report of the Parish Council.

Comrades Hall 100 Club Results

The Spring draw took place on Tuesday 2nd March 2021 at the Comrades Hall.

The numbers were drawn by John, the Post Office Outreach Clerk. The winning numbers and names are as follows:

Post Office Open Today

Throughout this National Lockdown the Post Office Outreach service has been going on.  Peter and John from Crewkerne post office come to the Comrades Hall each Tuesday and Friday morning providing villagers with this great service.

Open at 10am until 12.30pm, you are requested to record your name and postcode upon entering for tracking purposes.  There is a one way system in operation for entering and leaving. Stay safe.

Last UK Posting Dates for Christmas

The Post Office Outreach Service will be at the Comrades Hall in Broadwindsor on Friday 18th and on Tuesday 22nd December from 10am – 12,30pm.

It’s now too late for international packages to reach their destination in time for Christmas but here are the recommended deadline dates for within the UK from the Royal Mail:

Friday 18 December –
 2nd Class and 2nd Class Signed For
Monday 21 December –
 1st Class and 1st Class Signed For
and Royal Mail Tracked 48*
Tuesday 22 December –
 Royal Mail Tracked 24*
Wednesday 23 December –
 Special Delivery Guaranteed

*Royal Mail Tracked 24 and Royal Mail Tracked 48 services are not available to purchase at Post Office® branches.

P.O. - Covid seatingThere is seating arranged in the Comrades Hall so nobody has to queue outside.  Please remember to wear your mask, write your name and postcode in the book coming in (for track and trace purposes) and to use the hand sanitiser provided.

The Royal Mail point out that “Ongoing Covid restrictions, reduced air and freight capacity, high volumes and winter weather conditions are all impacting transportation and local delivery across the globe.”  Be kind to your postman 🙂

Comrades Hall 100 Club

Comrades Hall 100 Club

As not everyone was able to pay their 100 club monies Tuesday morning at the Post Office – Joyce & Sally will be at there again next TUESDAY, 10th November collecting again for the Comrades Hall 100 Club.

Please can everyone who hasn’t paid either attend or get the money to Joyce or Sally.  There is a waiting list to join so if payment hasn’t been received by Friday, 13th November – your number may be allocated to someone else!

Post Office Service Remains Throughout November

It has just been confirmed by Jacqui Sewell that the Post Office Outreach service which visits Broadwindsor’s Comrades Hall on Tuesday and Fridays will remain open on both days throughout the November Lockdown.

The Post Office service comes from Crewkerne and opens at 10am.  It provides an essential service for many residents. Please remember to wear your mask, use the hand sanitiser and register your name at the entrance.  The Comrades Hall has a large Car Park & lots of space for socially distanced waiting in the Main Hall before you use the Post Office in the Servery.

Please note that Tuesday 3rd is the only opportunity you will have to pay your subscription!
If you are unable to attend, please put your money through Joyce or Sally’s letterbox (marked with your name of course).

Raffle tickets at £1 each will be on sale from Friday 6th November for the Comrades Hall Christmas Raffle on Friday 18th December. All proceeds go towards the refurbishment of the Comrades Hall & Bernards’ Place.  Please contact Jacqui on 01308 867145 if you are able to donate any raffle prizes or drop them off at Krumbs, High Street, Broadwindsor.

Help! Most Fridays now have volunteer cover for the remainder of this year but if you are able to help on a Tuesday morning, please speak with Jacqui.

They Repair Consoles and Phones, Unlock & Repair all Mobile Phones. They provide a professional Disc Cleaning Service, they cut your Sims & Top them up. They can also Transfer your VHS to DVD, along with many other services and goods that they provide. Next Tuesday and Friday, between 10am & 12.30pm at the Comrades Hall they will bring the following products – all at only £5 each.

The Autumn draw took place earlier today, Tuesday 1st September 2020 at the Comrades Hall Post Office. The numbers were drawn by John, the Post Office Outreach Clerk.
