Broadwindsor Church Bells In August

The bells at St. John the Baptist church in Broadwindsor will be heard this afternoon (Tuesday, 6th) at 15.45 hrs. when a band from Milverton will ring a Quarter Peal.

A second group from the University of Cambridge Guild of Ringers will be ringing on Monday, 19th August from 10.30am – 11.30am.

Broadwindsor’s Bells Ringing This Week

This morning (8th July) at 10am a visiting band will attempt to ring a Quarter Peal which will last approximately 20 mimutes 🙂

On Thursday, 11th July, there is a wedding in St. John the Baptist church at 2pm.  A team will raise the bells some time in the morning ready to ring as the happy couple leave the church following the ceremony.

Platinum Jubilee Fun Day A Success – Picnic Inside Today

Chairman of Broadwindsor Fun Group, Adrian Gray, his family and friends unwind at The White Lion after a successful Platinum Jubilee Fun Day.  Photographs will be uploaded later. Remember to tag your photos #BWFunDay.

We were blessed with dry weather 🙂 Today, however looks quite different… Today’s Platinum Jubilee Picnic at 1pm will now be held INSIDE the Comrades Hall and the Silver Lining band will perform on the stage.

Enjoy a Cream Tea In The Churchyard This Afternoon

As part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, St. John the Baptist church are offering a Cream Tea this afternoon in the churchyard from 2pm until 5pm. ÂŁ2.50 entrance fee.

All weekend, the chuch have memorabilia on display together with beautiful floral arrangements – be sure to call in.
