Happy Hallowe’en!

Hallowe’en! Also All Hallows Eve, All Saints Eve and Samhain. Many Hallowe’en traditions are influenced by Celtic harvest festivals, particularly Samhain. Samhain marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter.
It was believed that on that day, the souls of the dead returned to their homes, so people dressed in costumes and lit bonfires to ward off their spirits.

November 1st is All Saints’ Day, also known as All Hallows’ Day, the Feast of All Saints, the Feast of All Hallows, the Solemnity of All Saints and Hallowmas. Recognised and celebrated by the Christian church when they honour of all the saints of the church, whether they are known or unknown.

Open at 9am – The Stableyard Restaurant is serving Hallowe’en cupcakes and skeleton ginger bread men alongside their delicious menu.

Other Hallowe’en activities include:

  • trick-or-treating – discouraged due to Covid,
  • attending Hallowe’en costume parties – with covid precautions in place,
  • carving pumpkins into jack-o’-lanterns,
  • lighting bonfires,
  • apple bobbing,
  • divination games,
  • playing pranks,
  • visiting haunted attractions,
  • telling scary stories,
  • watching horror films.

Lockdown At Redlands Yard

As the number of COVID-19 cases are increasing in our area and due to Redlands Yard being located so close to the Tier 4 border, Colin and Sarah have decided to not fully re open this January.

With beautiful gifts, clothing, beauty products, items for the home, soft furnishings and even an amazing deli stocked full of wonderful local supplies – this is definitely the place you’ll find those last minute gifts and gifts that tell your person they are loved.

  • Open Tuesdays – Sundays 10am – 4pm – there’s already 25% off all their Christmas decorations!
  • Christmas Eve, Sarah is open 10 – 2pm with a special offer of 25% off all Christmas products and 50% off all Christmas cards.

The Painted Nail, BroadwindsorThe Painted Nail.  The bespoke nail salon that specialises in everything Nails. At the time of publishing, there is availability with Claire on the 23rd but otherwise they are fully booked prior to Christmas. The girls are working up until 23rd, open for one day on the 30th Dec. then reopening on the 5th Jan. 2021.
