Warning! Farmers WILL shoot your dogs!

Local Farmers, Andrew & Tim Frampton have issued the following warning after an incident on Lewesdon hill earlier today.

“This morning three labradors chased our sheep in the first field at the end of sheep wash lane heading to Lewesdon hill. The owners let them off the lead and they ran riot chasing the young lambs and forcing some ewes down a gully into the common. The dogs then chased the cattle in the next field up.

I would ask all dog owners to keep your dogs on a lead in fields with livestock . As landowners we have the right to shoot dogs caught worrying livestock and chasing the sheep.
Please, if you see fellow dog walkers not with their dogs on the lead in these fields, not picking up dog mess behind them or even roaming around the fields off the footpath – please Inform them to stick to the countryside code.

With the grass laid up for silage making please stay on the footpath and pick up the  sticks you throw for your dogs as bigs ones can damage harvesting machinery.”

Tim Frampton caught three teenagers, 2 boys and a girl and after denying it, they said they couldn’t get the dogs to come back.

We will shoot dogs if we catch them chasing the sheep. We spent hours lambing the ewes in the middle of the night through January and have no reservations about the repercussions.”
