Local Employment: Kitchen Assistant At Stableyard Restaurant

The Stableyard Restaurant at Redlands Yard in Broadwindsor are looking for someone to join their friendly team of hard working staff to work in their busy kitchen.

Duties to include:

  • Cooking
  • Cake making
  • Food preperation
  • Sandwich & Salad making
  • Cleaning
  • Washing up
  • Packing away deliveries.

There will be some weekend work as well as weekdays.

Straight shifts: hours to be discussed. Full or part time. The positions starts when they reopen in May.

Apprenticeship position is also available.

Stableyard RestaurantThe Stableyard Restaurant plan to open outside and offer takeaways on Wednesday 5th May, 11am – 3pm. They will be open for hot and cold drinks, yummy cakes and slices, sandwiches and toasties.
The restaurant will fully open on Tuesday 18th May 9.30am (as long as the Government allows).

The Upholstery Workshop

Tony’s Upholstery Workshop has now moved out of Redlands Yard due to the developments due to take place there.  However, Tony is still offering the same Upholstery service in the area.

Tony has been restoring & reupholstering furniture for more than 25 years.

He offers Upholstery and loose Cover making, Cushion fillings using a wide range of high quality fabrics.

In addition to those skills, Tony carries out frame repairs and repolishing; spring repair; cushion replacement and refilling.

He also offers a Curtain and Blinds making service.

Congratulations To Girl Guide Leader Emma House

As well as being at the helm of Broadwindsor Rainbows and Guide groups, Girl Guide Leader Emma House has been appointed the County Leadership Team‘s representative for Growth & Retention in Girl Guiding.

With more than 4,500 members, Girlguiding Dorset gives girls and young women space where they can grow, develop, build brilliant friendships, and make a positive difference to their lives and their communities. They may have been going for a long time but they continue to give girls and young women, of all backgrounds and faiths, an opportunity to make their voices heard so that they can realise their full potential to become dynamic members of the 21st century.

Girlguiding is split into four sections, depending on your daughter or the age of the girl.

The 1st Broadwindsor group offer:

  • Rainbows age 5-7
  • Brownies age 7-10
  • Guides age 10-14
  • West Dorset Rangers age 14-18

West Dorset Rangers Start 21st Jan

Spaces are available to join the 1st West Dorset Rangers who will be holding their first meeting via Zoom on Thursday 21st January.

If you are or have a daughter, grand-daughter, sister or girlfriend aged  14 – 18yrs who would like to join in please do get in touch! Start a new adventure for 2021!
