Free Fireworks Display At Cricket Ground – Friday, 3rd November

All are invited to Broadwindsor’s Firework Display on Friday, 3rd November which is being held for the third year at Broadwindsor’s Cricket Ground on the Beaminster Road.

Free car parking is available at Redlands Yard, the Comrades Hall and in front of the school on the Drimpton Road (so you will have to walk a short distance to the Cricket Ground).

Admission is FREE! 🙂 Please bring cash for the Barbecue and Bar which will be open from 5.30pm. The firework display will begin at 7pm.

All donations and proceeds will be shared with the Comrades Hall Management Committee and Broadwindsor Cricket Club.

** In case of bad weather, it may be held on the Saturday or Sunday – the organisers will post updates on Facebook.

Firework Display A Sparkling Success

An estimated two to three hundred people showed up at Broadwindsor’s Cricket ground this evening.

A set of air pods in a case were found and can be retrieved from the Knapp Inn – please contact Lesley on 01308 862408.

Entry was free but volunteers rattled their collection buckets enthusiastically. Special thanks must go to the small group of children, who found a five pound note lying in the ground and added it to the donation bucket.

Huge thanks to the organisers, sponsors, volunteer helpers and of course to you, the public for showing up! 🙂 We look forward to this annual event at the Cricket Club next year.

Fair Weather For Tonight’s Free Firework Display

Tonight is the village’s Free Firework Display at the Broadwindsor Cricket Club 🙂 With a BBQ and bar from 5.30pm, the fireworks begin at 7.00pm. CASH ONLY!

There is parking at the field for spectators with mobility issues, otherwise there is free parking at Redlands Yard and at The Comrades Hall (Village Hall) Broadwindsor. Safety stewards will be in operation to help cross the road where the footpath ends from Redlands Lane for entrance via the top pedestrian gate.

Great weather today, so be sure not to miss this event. **Free entry.**

Free Fireworks At Cricket Ground – Friday, 4th November

Thanks to sponsors: Cllr. Simon Christopher, Broadwindsor House, Symonds & Sampson and Clive Stafford-Smith, over £1,000 worth of Fireworks will explode at this year’s annual event on Friday, 4th November.

As last year, admission is FREE! A Barbecue and Bar will be open from 5.30pm and the firework display will begin at 7pm.
Any profits & donations made from collection buckets shall go towards the solar panels for the Cricket pavilion and a donation made to the Village Green Appeal for Bernards’ Place, who have now achieved their target 🙂

Club Captain Ade Phillips told Bridport News: “We are really pleased to be hosting this event again, as part of our collaboration with the village. We hope to raise a few pounds to help pay for the solar panels powering the pavilion, and also the play area for the kids.”

Disabled parking is available near the ground. In case of bad weather, it may be held on the Saturday or Sunday.

Details Of Tonight’s Fireworks Event

A favourable sky is expected for Broadwindsor Fun Group’s Fireworks event this evening, held in cooperation with Broadwindsor Cricket Club and sponsorship received from Cllr. Simon Christopher.

Admission is FREE. Donation buckets will be rattled 🙂
Pedestrian access from 5.30pm.
Redlands Yard (formerly the Craft Centre) are kindly allowing the use of their car park for those driving.
Stewards will be in place to guide you safely into and from the Cricket Club’s Pavilion Spectators area.
Please dispose of your rubbish sensibly and do not leave any behind.
Sorry – no Sparklers allowed!

A bar* will be available and the following will also be on sale from 5.30pm…

Broadwindsor Fun Group Planning Meeting – 7.30pm Tuesday, 9th November

Fireworks this Friday – please come along!
Redlands Yard have made their car park available and there will be stewards on the road to guide you to the Cricket Ground. Hot soup, burgers, hot dogs, mulled wine and a bar too! Sorry no sparklers allowed but Glow Sticks will be on sale: 2 for 50p.

We would like to crystalise plans for the Jubilee weekend and have also started pencilling in dates for some fund raisers to enable a fun and varied selection of events to be held next year.

The Agenda is as follows:

Welcome by Chairman.
Fireworks event debrief. (Held in conjunction with Broadwindsor Cricket Club)
Christmas Party night – Saturday, 18th December.
A festive night of Christmas music classics to dance to from The Silver Lining Band. £8 for adults & £5 for under 18s (Price includes a plate of nibbles). Numbers are strictly limited for this fun festive event – so get your tickets, which will be available after this meeting at Broadwindsor Community Stores or ordered online via Broadwindsor.org.
Jubilee weekend 2022

Thursday evening – Beacon lighting at the allotments.
Friday – free.
Saturday – Family fun day & of music & children’s activities in Bernard’s Place until late.
Sunday – Reuse Bernard’s place for a lunchtime BYO picnic & early evening band, culminating with the announcement of scarecrow prizes & a big raffle draw.
