Becca and Florry (her lorry) are at Bridport market every Wednesday and Saturday.
Windows should be lit at 4pm until at least 9pm or later if possible. Thanks to everyone taking part!
In Lockdown last year, there was no hesitation to take part and there were no gaps in the month of December when it came to ‘Choose a Christmas carol and dress your window accordingly‘. Everyone enthused and enjoyed “getting out” to walk around the village as Christmas approached, encouraged by the creativity of those who took part. (Last year’s gallery can be viewed HERE.)
The theme this year set by our Rev. Jo is ‘The Heart of Christmas‘. Perhaps not as definitive but for whatever the reason, there are still 10 dates left unused for next month – this Wednesday being the 1st of December.
Please contact Rev Jo in the first instance at: revneary@gmail.com or tel: 01308 867816 to be involved. You’re not too late to be included on the map if you contact Rev. Jo very soon. An up-to-date list will also be online at Broadwindsor.org.
By taking part, it is taken as permission that you are happy for the date and name/number of your house to be published so people can come and view.
In the Comrades Hall – Monday sessions… Come & Sew!
There is plenty of space to yourself, refreshments provided and help / tuition from Becca. Finish a project or start something new. Becca will have some small patterns & projects to do each week.
“It is really lovely to meet & see you all sewing!” – Becca 4 Monday dates available:

Having been located at Broadwindsor Craft Centre, now Redlands Yard in recent years, Beccas Fabric Larder is now a mobile shop and will be revisiting Broadwindsor’s Comrades Hall on Monday, 7th June. With her lorry (van) called Florry, Becca Balazs will be running a six week patchwork course. Limited to ten places at each session.
Becca aims to introduce you to techniques & patterns you may not encounter on your own at home (or on YouTube!). If you have a particular project you need help with please do bring it along & hopefully Becca will be able to help.
As well as learning some traditional patchwork & quilting techniques, you are encouraged to create your own patchwork, whether it is a quilt, wall hanging or smaller projects you would like to make. Brush up on rotary cutting, piecing, templates, applique & machining as well as building confidence choosing colours and fabrics & maybe getting out of your comfort zone.
Patterns and advice sheets are all included.
Cost is £70 for the course. You can secure your place with a £20 deposit HERE (the remainder payable minimum one week before course starts)

Last month Rev. Jo put out her idea for having Advent Windows for the month of December. Beaminster Team Churches are now promoting the event. Read everything you need to know HERE.
If you live in Drimpton or Broadwindsor please email Rev. Jo Neary, revneary@gmail.com to register your interest. If you live in another village then you will need to get a group of people together to organise your own event but please let her know if you are joining in so you can be included and publicised.
Please sign up for your carol by Friday 23rd October allowing time to fill in any gaps. Spread the idea far and wide as some more people need to be recruited.
On Monday 2nd November the list will be confirmed, giving everyone four weeks at least to prepare their window. If there are fewer than 24 houses taking part then the Advent trail will start later in the month so that the last window is still lit on day 24.
