Use Scout Post This Christmas

As they did last year, with an extensive delivery list, the Scout Group are offering to post your Christmas cards for only 30p! A first class stamp is 95p and a second class, 68p.

Most households will have already received a leaflet through their letterbox. Going Green – they will be phasing them out gradually over the coming years in response to feedback.

Locally, there will be yellow post boxes in our lovely Broadwindsor Community Stores, The Royal Oak in Drimpton and Beaminster‘s Co-op. Running from 5th December – 12 noon, 17th December.

  • No stamp required!
  • Please check the address you are sending to is in one of their delivery areas.
  • Please ensure your card is correctly addressed and include the postcode if you know it.
  • Post your greetings cards in one of our many Yellow Post Boxes together with 30p for each card, they will do the rest 🙂
  • Deliveries are made by our small army of adult volunteers.
  • 100% proceeds will go directly to Scout Funds.

Delivery Areas:

PLEASE NOTE: There are changes to their delivery areas each year and they are unable to deliver outside of these areas or to overseas.

Can You Help?

They need willing volunteers who are able to spend four to five hours spread over a two week period at the beginning of December to sort or deliver Scout Post in our area.  Volunteers provide a useful and popular community service as well as raising much needed funds to support your local Scout Groups. You will be making a real difference to local young people and be giving something back to the community. Don’t delay, please contact: scoutpost@dwdscouts.org.uk

Last Few Days To Use Scout Post!

Many thanks to everyone in the village who has been using the Scout Post Christmas 2021 service so far which helps raise money for local scout groups.
Kevin and his team at the Broadwindsor Community Stores have been kindly hosting the yellow scout post box, and you now only have a few days left to post your cards. More HERE.

Final collections is on Saturday December 18th at 12 noon.

If you are interested to find out more about Scout Post, or to look at some of the statistics about cards being sent this year, please click HERE

If you are someone who regularly walks around the village anyway, perhaps you may be interested in volunteering to help out with some of the delivery of the Broadwindsor cards for Scout Post 2022?
Some local villages e.g. Stoke Abbott, Netherbury, Burstock didn’t have anyone to deliver cards there this year, so they were not included on the delivery schedule. Perhaps you might be able to volunteer to carry out scout post in those villages next year?
To find out more information about volunteering please get in touch with kirstyamoore@outlook.com.
