Megan Simson, an Aussie girl living in Broadwindsor and an ambassador for the Life affirming, confidence building program, WomanSpeak™.

A WomanSpeak™ Circle is a place of safety, growth and celebration. An environment where you risk and expand.
Giving you the opportunity to feel comfortable with the YOU you wish to be.

An introduction to WomanSpeak™ exposes women to the art and soul of public speaking, equipping them with unique tools and practices so they are empowered to speak up and express their truest thoughts and feelings with ease and confidence.
Megan looks forward in assisting you in claiming your voice and your true power.
All sessions below take place at The Comrades Hall:
  • The first session is on Monday, 11th September, 9.30am – 11.30am.
    An Introduction to WomanSpeak™
  • Monday, 18th September, 9.30 – 10.30am
    WomanSpeak™ orientation for new participants, followed by
  • Monday, 18th September, 10.30am – 12.30pm
    WomanSpeak™ class.
  • Monday, 25th September, 9.30 – 10.30am
    WomanSpeak™ orientation for new participants, followed by
  • Monday, 25th September, 10.30am – 12.30pm
    WomanSpeak™ class.

Classes are £15 or £10 concessionary rate.

Weldmar at Home offers end of life care to patients in their own homes, and they’re looking for an experienced nurse who will play a critical role in the co-ordination of the service.

If you are a registered nurse with a drive and enthusiasm for palliative care, and improving the experience of patients and families, they’d love to hear from you.

Your specialist knowledge and leadership skills will enable you to support the Team Leader in the continued development of Weldmar at Home, and the delivery of this high quality, flexible, rapid response and integrated nursing service in people’s homes across Dorset.

You should possess, or be working towards, a degree in palliative care or related nursing subject, with at least three years registered nurse experience, at a senior level.

Since launching in May 2021, Weldmar at Home has delivered more than 2,000 home visits to over 130 patients, receiving excellent feedback, and is already established as an essential part of the end of life services that Weldmar Hospicecare provide.

As this role will be patient facing, and we adhere to the government guidelines given to the independent health sector regarding Covid vaccinations, we would require evidence of vaccinations prior to employment.

Mobile Covid-19 Testing Unit At West Bay Tomorrow

The mobile Covid-19 testing unit will be at West Bay, Bridport on the following dates: 
  • Wednesday 30th Sep
  • Thursday 1st Oct
  • Mon 5th Oct
  • Wed 7th Oct
It will also be at Dorchester on:
  • Sat 3rd Oct
  • Sun 4th Oct
  • Thurs 8th Oct

If you are having issues with booking a slot the advice is to keep trying as appointments as slots are opened through the day.

You can only get a free NHS test if at least one of the following applies:

  • you have a high temperature
  • you have a new, continuous cough
  • you’ve lost your sense of smell or taste or it’s changed
  • you’ve been told to have a test before you go into hospital and you live in England
  • you’ve been asked to by a local authority
  • you’re taking part in a government pilot project

You can also get a test for someone you live with if they have symptoms.

Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester are looking for a Consultant Respiratory Physician to join #TeamDCH.

The post is advertised as Full time; however they are very receptive to discussions around both less than full-time and flexible working. The post will support the growth in the EBUS and sleep services and community models of care whilst being based in the idyllic town of Dorchester.
