In a brand new one man show, ‘Unlock Me & other Lockdown Laments‘, Steve Knightley will perform material that surfaced over two years of isolation and inactivity. Songs such as the Bristol Slaver and You’ll Get By were refreshed by headlines and current affairs whilst classic covers such as Forever Young and The Boys of Summer struck a chord with the thousands that tuned in to his hours of online content.
Insights, anecdotes and a bunch of new songs will attempt to chronicle and draw a line under an extra episode in all our lives. BBC Radio 2 commented “Committed and distinctive songs of love, conscience and history” .
Steve will be performing at Broadwindsor’s Comrades Hall (High Street, Broadwindsor, DT8 3QP) on Friday, 29th September 🙂
Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.

Parishioners will be familiar with village residents Phil & Lauren Rosenburg performing a selection of lovely songs at last years BFG Jubilee celebrations. We are fortunate to look forward to an evening’s acoustic performance from them both with their guest Andy Smith performing classic Rock & Pop songs from the 1960’s to the present day.

A Half Term special! On Tuesday, 16th February at 3.30pm, the Comrades Hall present an Artsreach project: ‘Georgia and the Iceberg‘…
Can you imagine spending your holiday in Antarctica? Or becoming best friends with a penguin? When Georgia goes to visit her big sister Helena, all she wants is to explore the big frozen continent outside her bedroom window. While Helena is focused on completing her chores, Georgia discovers a giant iceberg on a collision course with the nearby penguin colony. If she can’t journey across the ice in time to warn them, then everyone’s in danger. She might need some help …. A brrr-illiant adventure filled with puppetry, jokes and a heart-warming original story.
Refreshments will be on sale – cash only please!
Recommended for 7+ years & their families. Please note – children must be accompanied by an adult during the whole performance.

The Churchfitters is a folk band like no other. A double bass made out of a saucepan. Heart-wrenching vocals accompanied by a musical saw or a glass harp. Foot-stompingly fast fiddle mixed with infectious funk-rock rhythms. And traditional tunes reinvigorated with mesmerising jazz sax.

The three virtuoso musicians from England and France strut their stuff on a stage that bristles with instruments – adding flute, banjo, dulcimer, tin whistle, guitar, ukulele, electric hub-cap bass-bouzouki and a sackful of percussion to their ensemble. And let’s not forget the unique ‘bing-bong’ machine made out of hack-saw blades!
