Operation Snap

With more people using dash cams in their vehicles and taking recordings on their mobile ‘phones, Dorset Police, with the support of the Department of Transport have launched Operation SNAP.   It is the police response to the ever increasing submissions of video and photographic evidence from members of the public in relation to witnessed driving offences.
You must be able to provide the registration number of the offending vehicle.

Operation SnapThe secure form is for traffic offences, it is NOT for submitting footage of road traffic collisions or any other offences.

They can only accept a statement for Operation Snap from persons aged 18 or over. If you are under 18 the incident should be reported by email to 101.

It will be your responsibility to ensure that the original footage is saved in its original format dependant on how it is stored on the device.

Do NOT publish the footage on any social media sites.  If you’ve done so – remove it immediately. Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) advice is that your footage should not be in the public domain as this may adversely affect any subsequent proceedings.

As part of the Criminal Justice process, and in order to allow the police to deal with the offender in an appropriate manner, you will be required to provide a statement. However this can be completed on line and the majority of the statement will be completed as a result of you answering some simple pre-formatted questions.  On average only 1 to 2% of all offences reported through Operation Snap result in requiring you to make a court appearance.

Urgent Food Product Recall

Morrisons, Waitrose, Lidl, Iceland, Sainsbury’s, Asda and Aldi are urgently recalling a variety of products. If you have bought any of the 18 items listed below, you are to return them to the place of purchase to get a refund.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) said some of the products contain ingredients that are not mentioned on the label, while others could contain harmful bacteria.

1. Lighter For You Meatballs:

Lidl GB are recalling their Lighter For You Meatballs as the product contains milk making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

2. Twix Ice-Cream Bars:

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to almonds or hazelnuts, nuts, and/or peanuts, and/or soya, and/or an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten and milk or milk constituents.

6. Milk Chocolate:

Waitrose & Partners is recalling Waitrose No.1 Dominican Republic Milk Chocolate 49% because some products contain almonds, hazelnuts (nuts) and soya which are not mentioned on the label.
Due to a packaging error, some products contain Waitrose No.1 Orange & Almond Chocolate instead.
This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to almonds, hazelnuts (nuts) and/or soya.

16. Bettine Blanc Goat’s Cheese:

Waitrose is recalling their range of Bettinehoeve goat’s cheese, which they sell at deli counters in Waitrose.
The Bettine Blanc Goat’s Cheese is pulled from counters because it may contain Listeria monocytogenes. This product has been sold at Waitrose deli counters during the period 04/09/20 – 29/10/20. Shoppers are being urged not to eat the cheese and return it to the place of sale.

17. Caramel & Sea Salt Chocolate:

Cocoa Libre is recalling Caramel and Sea Salt Chocolate (Vegan, Free from Dairy, Gluten, Wheat, Nuts and Peanuts) because it contains hazelnuts which are not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to hazelnuts (nuts).
The specific packs being recalled are 100g with the batch codes 1737 06/21 or 1734 06/21 or 1788 08/21.

Anyone who has bought a pack should return it to the Coco Libre factory (Unit 5 Market Industrial Estate, Yatton, BS49 4RF) for a full refund or safe replacement product.

18. Eggs:

A certain batch of eggs from several of the UK’s leading supermarkets is being recalled – because they may contain Salmonella.  Sainsbury’s is the worst affected store.
The FSA is issuing precautionary advice to consumers who have purchased a specific batch of British Lion eggs. Affected eggs can be identified by the batch code and the best before date stamped on the eggshell.  The eggs affected are sold in some selected stores listed below in England and Wales only.

Church Remembrance Services

Public worship is suspended for the next 4 weeks. Broadwindsor church is open for prayer every morning 8am til 12 noon.

Broadwindsor Church will be open tomorrow, Sunday 8th November through to Wednesday, 11th November enabling you to go into the church for private prayer and to light a candle to remember your loved ones and to remember those who have lost their lives at war and in conflicts all across our world.  Also this year, the Church is offering people the opportunity to tie a ribbon to the church gate as a sign of remembering.  Ribbons will available and packaged up in envelopes for you to tie to the church gate.

Dog Poo En Route To School

On 3 out of 4 mornings this past week, a school Mum from Trusthams, Broadwindsor repeatedly observed dogs’ mess in three different places along the path leading from Trusthams all the way down to the village shop.

Unfortunately, on Thursday morning her 4 year old stepped in some that was hidden amongst the leaves whilst on their way to school. All the children that walk to school are vulnerable to step in it, particularly at this time of year, as it is often masked by leaves. It is likely that many children have walked into school this week with mess on their shoes.

The woman believes that it is the same local person as it’s on the same route  It is an offence to not to pick up dog mess as well as it being exceptionally selfish and anti social behaviour.

Another village resident on the same route has had dog poo bags dropped into his council recycling bin on more than one occasion!

PLEASE, PLEASE – BE A RESPONSIBLE DOG OWNER!

Sheep On Lewesdon Hill Attacked By Dog

Local farmer, Jo Stover is appealing for information and reminding people to keep their dogs on a lead when walking through a field with livestock.
Her message earlier this afternoon: “I have a small group of my Portland ewes in a field along the Wessex Ridgeway on Lewesdon Hill. I checked them at 3 o’clock this afternoon. At 5 ‘o’clock I brought a ram up to the field to join them. I found two ewes had been ATTACKED by a dog. One was bitten on the neck, the other at the back end. All of the ewes were in a state of absolute terror. I believe this attack was from a local dog – the visitors have left because of lockdown. I am very upset and really angry at the disgusting behaviour of the dog owner. Keep your dogs on leads, you are a horrible person.
I know this attack happened between 3 and 5 this afternoon, 5th November. I would appreciate if anyone has further information. And if you are walking anywhere near my fields with your dog off a lead please expect an angry women to tell you to **** off my farm. Please remember a dog bothering sheep may be shot by the farmer.” –  Jo Stover.

Comrades Hall 100 Club
