Earlier today, a Dorset County Ranger together with a volunteer fitted a new metal gate up Lewesdon hill. An advantage of this new gate is that it has a self-closing mechanism 🙂
There is a field gate to go in next to it soon. A project kick started by local farmer and Parish Councillor, Andrew Frampton, the National Trust will be completing the fencing.
A fantastic memorial concert is being held for the exceptional musician, a village resident and friend to many, Simon Emmerson who peacefully passed away on Monday, 13th March this year after living with cancer for several years.

Taking place at The Roundhouse, in Camden, London, this is a special one-off concert, with very special guests, that will showcase music from all of Simon’s bands and projects. It will raise funds for palliative care at home and abroad, including the Weldmar Hospice who looked after Simon at the end of his life.
For those able to travel, it is on Friday, 15th December at 7pm. Tickets start are from £37.50 (standing) and from £45 (seated) – you can book online HERE. All are invited to Broadwindsor’s Firework Display on Friday, 3rd November which is being held for the third year at Broadwindsor’s Cricket Ground on the Beaminster Road.
Free car parking is available at Redlands Yard, the Comrades Hall and in front of the school on the Drimpton Road (so you will have to walk a short distance to the Cricket Ground).
Admission is FREE! 🙂 Please bring cash for the Barbecue and Bar which will be open from 5.30pm. The firework display will begin at 7pm.
All donations and proceeds will be shared with the Comrades Hall Management Committee and Broadwindsor Cricket Club.
