Rotary Club Quiz on Zoom – Saturday, 23rd Jan

On Sat 23rd January 2021 at 7.00 pm – 9.00 pm the Brit Valley Rotary Club is holding a fund raising quiz on the platform Zoom.

John Clegg will be the Quiz Master. You can log in from 7 pm and the quiz will start at 7.30pm

There will be 6 categories with 6 questions in each

The entry fee will be £2.50 per person. The easiest way to do this is click HERE, enter the amount and follow the instructions.

£800 Million In Dormant Assets Scheme

Last week, the Government announced a major expansion of the Dormant Assets Scheme to support the UK as it recovers from the coronavirus pandemic. The scheme, which allows banks and building societies to donate funds to good causes and charities from dormant accounts, will now include assets from the insurance and pensions, investment, wealth management, and securities sectors.

More than £800 million will be made available to continue supporting urgent work to tackle youth unemployment, expand access to emergency loans for civil society organisations and help improve the availability of fair, affordable credit to people in vulnerable circumstances.

This funding is in addition to the £150 million unlocked in May 2020 to help charities’ coronavirus response and recovery. Read more HERE.

Book MUGA For Your Personal Exercise

Broadwindsor’s MUGA (Multi Use Games Area) next to Broadwindsor school remains closed for general use, however it can be booked by a family unit and/or support bubble for their sole use.
People living alone are also allowed under Government guidance, to exercise with one other person from another household outdoors and therefore this can include the use of the MUGA.
This booking system was adopted last year and worked well, allowing for much needed recreational opportunities, close to home.
